Artificial Grass Installation
Before starting the installation, it is necessary to familiarise yourself with the basic procedure. The details for preparing a standard artificial grass are given below.
Excavation
The area first has to be excavated which involves removing the old turf. This can be achieved with either a sharp spade or a turf cutter. The ground then has to be compacted using either a whacking or vibrating plate.
Your perimeter has to be prepared for the artificial grass by inserting stakes and battens all the way round the area. This provides support and gives strength to the product being laid. It would be appropriate to spray a weed killer on the soil to kill off any potential weeds.
The area should then be filled with sand to the appropriate depth and level. Applying the vibrating plate will compact the sand in readiness for the artificial grass installation.
